Four of us from Watford Philharmonic Society have had a hugely enjoyable time working on the Mozart Requiem with you and your wonderful young conductor/choral director, John Andrews. We did this sublime piece ourselves in a concert last autumn, so were very grateful for an opportunity to sing it again. But we got much more than that! Everyone made us welcome, and we quickly felt amongst friends. The entire event was very

well-organised; the church comfortably warm, and nice to sing in; exceedingly generous hospitality during the tea-break; excellent soloists, and an inspirational and passionate young conductor who made light of our mistakes whilst encouraging us to aim high!

I just wanted to thank everyone involved for the excellent day you organised on Saturday. My friend and I travelled from Enfield and we really enjoyed our time with you. The musical director had just the right approach to a day such as this - enjoyment is the name of the game. His light-hearted approach made the rehearsal and performance great fun. I loved his brisk tempi! The pianist was fantastic, the atmosphere was friendly and relaxed and the refreshments were amazingly plentiful.

We had an extremely informative afternoon: John was very interesting telling us about some of the history of the work, as well as getting such a terrific sound from us. Thanks to you and your colleagues for a delicious tea. I thought the concert was wonderful - excellent soloists, shame I didn't catch their names! (See below)
