Zimbe! is an uplifting celebration of African music,
which combines traditional song with infectious jazz accompaniments
to take us on a whirlwind tour of a day in the life of an African village,
including playground songs from Ghana, Xhosa lullabies
and drinking songs from Zimbabwe.
Harpenden Choral Society were joined by
The St Helen's C of E Primary School Choir,
The Roundwood Primary School Choir
and the Call Me Al Jazz Quintet.
The concert began with a selection of classic popular songs including
‘Over the Rainbow’, ‘Tea for Two’ and ‘Smoke gets in Your Eyes’.
This proved to be a lively and vibrant musical afternoon.
